DESCRIPTION

“Mazur on the way Bunia opposite fakir”, is a funny story of the Mazur family, who go on holiday abroad. Jędrek is the narrator here, who tells us the entire journey, diversifying it with various illustrations. In addition to interesting descriptions of places, we will also witness a criminal plot, and Jędrek with grandmother Bunia will be in the middle of all the commotion. Can they solve the mystery of fakir? Why does this mysterious man appear everywhere where is our family? Admittedly, our hero didn’t expect such an ending!

MY IMPRESSIONS

When I read that an elderly militant lady will have one of the main roles, I must read it! This was also with the book, which Agnieszka Stelmaszyk wrote, “Mazur on the way Bunia opposite fakir”. The story is presented from the perspective of the boy Jędrek. He along with his grandmother, cousin, and parents, sets off on a journey through Western Europe. They will target Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, and the southern part of Poland. In each of these countries, we will have the opportunity to visit interesting places together with our characters, and the fact that the mysterious fakir they met in Frankfurt am Main will add to dynamism for this history. What will happen to the Mazur family? Under what circumstances Jędrek and his grandmother will meet fakir and why they will be hunted by mysterious men? What Bunia will bring from a trip to Western Europe? If you want to know the answers to these questions, you must reach this position!

“That day, when I got in the car with my parents, I didn’t know that our trip would be full of crazy adventures, dangers, and unexpected twists and turns”

First of all, it should be emphasized that “Mazur on the way Bunia opposite fakir”, which Agnieszka Stelmaszyk wrote, is a book directed mainly at the younger reader. We find in it a lot of interesting graphics and photos taken by the author herself. The book has been divided into seventeen chapters and we are in each of them in one of the places visited by Mazur. Jędrek reports what he and his family visited, what emotions he had. We can find out what he liked and what he didn’t like. At the end of the chapter, we get some interesting facts about the place.
This division of the book builds the atmosphere and tension. We will probably interest our child in the further story in the book if we will reading this history one chapter a day. The illustrations will make it not a boring position, containing only a wall of letters. “Mazur on the way Bunia opposite fakir” is a novel that entertains but also teaches. Thanks to this book, our children can learn a piece of the world, presented by the author in a simple, accessible language. I’m too old for such positions, but the younger readers will certainly like it. Who knows? Maybe this book inspired to follow the same route in the future as our characters?

COVER

First of all, the cover is hard! This is the first plus of this book, especially since its main audience is to be a young reader. The graphics present five characters driving a car, of which the oldest of them – the title Bunia is sitting on the roof, taking photos. This is another plus. This illustration is fun and thanks to it you can be interested in what the book hides inside. The title is clear and legible and the font is specific. The letters are not placed in a straight line, which may also indicate that the content of this book will be written with humor.

Personally, I wouldn’t throw on this book for visual reasons. If you have someone younger in your family and want to read something to him that can be good book.
